I know it is really strange, but until recently, I had never had a caramel apple before. I am not sure why. I have seen a ton of caramel apples being sold at local fairs and carnivals, but I had never purchased one. I have always opted for the fried dough!
My daughter and I were pretty excited to have the opportunity to review Marzetti Old-Fashioned Caramel Dip and make our own caramel apples at home. Immediately upon opening the tub of caramel, my daughter’s eyes lit up and she was like one of Pavlov’s dogs as she salivated! It took only a matter of seconds to warm the caramel and then swirl our apples in the bowl. My daughter chose to sprinkle one of the apples with halloween/fall sprinkles. My daughter and I immediately started to eat one apple each – we just couldn’t wait! Despite the fact that my son had never tried a caramel apple as well, his eyes lit up as well the moment he walked into the room. I sliced off a piece of my apple and stuck it on a popsicle stick for him. My kids sat down right where they were and chomped away!
